We are looking to reinforce our Process Chemistry Development Group with a process modelling engineer, who enjoys analyzing and identifying improvements:

Process Modeling Engineer

Are you a process simulation and modeling expert? Are you keen to contribute with your expertise to develop our Process Chemistry Development area and work in collaboration with development, research and production áreas?

As a Process Modeling Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Provide mechanistic modelling support of unit operations during development of chemical processes;
  • Support in development of safe and robust batch and continuous processes, including scale-up and validation;
  • Support the Technology Transfer and scale-up of projects from the Process Chemistry Development group to Pilot Plant and Manufacturing Areas;
  • Promote optimization of the chemistry processes, contributing to the continuous improvement, productivity, efficiency and costs reduction;
  • Investigate, promote and implement continuous manufacturing technologies and solutions in process development;
  • Raise the profile of the Company through technical presentations/articles.

We are looking to recruit:

  • A fast learner with a Ph.D (plus) or Master degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or Biotechnology, with expertise in simulation and modeling chemical processes;
  • A Candidate with approximately 5 years of experience in a similar position;
  • A Candidate that enjoys analyzing data and solving challenges within the Chemistry area, while interacting with other areas within
  • Hovione (research, development and manufacturing);
  • A Candidate familiar with one or more off the following tools: MATLAB, SciLab, gPROMS, DynoChem, SuperPro Designer;
  • A Candidate with excellent communication skills in English;
